Highlights from the 2024 Van Stadens Flower Festival
The ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฐ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น was nothing short of spectacular, bringing together 2,300 nature enthusiasts, families, and adventure seekers to celebrate the beauty of our Wildflower Reserve and the essence of community.

From the lively energy of families, to runners conquering the Green Flag Trail Run, the day was filled with unforgettable moments.
Nature, Nurture, and Fun
The Indigenous Plant Sale stole the show with 2,800 beautiful plants finding new homesโeach one a step toward greener, more sustainable spaces.
The craft stalls captivated visitors with unique finds, while guided walks unveiled the magic of the Reserveโs fynbos vegetation.

The tuk-tuk rides, courtesy of Mosaic Tourism, were an undeniable hit, offering festival-goers a quirky and scenic way to take in the vibrant fynbos. Smiles and laughter echoed as the tuk-tuks breezed through the wildflowersโwhat a treat!

Green Flag Trail Run: A Scenic Adventure
The Green Flag Trail Run was more than just a raceโit was a celebration of the Wildflower Reserveโs trails, proudly certified as Green Flag Trails. This remarkable achievement stems from the vision of the Municipalityโs Economic Development, Tourism, and Agriculture Directorate (EDTA) and Public Health Directorate, who recognise these trails as a unique gem for the Nelson Mandela Bay.
Runners tackled the 5km and 15km routes, soaking up breath-taking views of blooming wildflowers at every turn. Huge thanks to Big O Sports for organising an epic race thatโs fast becoming a favourite on the local running calendar.

Music, Brews, and Good Vibes
The soulful melodies of Claire Venn serenaded festival-goers, creating the perfect soundtrack for the day. Over at the beer garden, Destin Sauer from DSL Distributions delighted guests with limited-edition craft beers brewed exclusively for the festival. From a refreshing pale ale to a crisp Lager, these brews turned the beer garden into a vibey retreat where laughter and good cheer flowed freely.

A Heartfelt Thank You
None of this would have been possible without the incredible efforts of Mr. Clyde Scott, Reserve Manager, his dedicated team, and the hardworking ground staff.

As we reflect on the joy, connections, and magic of the 2024 Flower Festival, the excitement for 2025 is already budding. Until then, letโs keep the spirit of community and conservation alive. Hereโs to nurturing natureโand each other.ย
See you next year!
