This gathering was more than just a wildflower festival; it marked the unveiling of eleven newly-certified Green Flag Trails in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro area. It was a momentous occasion driven by a vision to showcase these trails as premier tourist attractions within the Bay.

This achievement was made possible through a dynamic collaboration between the Municipality’s Economic Development, Tourism, and Agriculture Directorate (β€œEDTA”) and the Public Health Directorate, both integral partners of FOV). FOVS was particularly elated to see the Van Stadens Wildflower Reserve among the accredited trails, recognising the tireless efforts in preserving its biodiversity.

The Green Flag Trail accreditation not only acknowledges the beauty of these natural reserves but also underscores their importance in conservation efforts. These trails offer an immersive experience for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike, showcasing the untamed beauty of the region.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the adventurers and trail runners who joined us in this muddy exploration, lending their support to this remarkable green initiative. Together, we continue to champion the preservation of our natural heritage for generations to come.
